Choose a scan that fits the job
For a single lookup, upload a photo on the card scanner page. If you are starting with the physical card, open the phone camera scanner. A match gives you a route into the catalog, where the card’s set, collector number, artwork, listings, and related printings help you check its identity.
Use your phone as the camera and your desktop as the workspace
Scan Connect pairs a phone with your signed-in desktop scan desk using a QR code or pairing code. Recognised cards enter a queue you can review on the larger screen.
Set the batch intent to collection or listing, then check each card’s printing, language, quantity, condition, and other relevant attributes. Review the queue before submitting it. Scanning a card is not the same as publishing a listing.
Keep the details in your hands
Recognition can suggest a catalog match; it cannot establish the physical condition of your copy. Similar artwork, foil treatments, and reprints deserve a second look. Compare the set and printed number before you save or list a card.
Choose the appropriate game and catalog in the scanner. Marketplace coverage and recognition catalogs are different, so a game being available in the marketplace does not mean every printing can be recognised from a photo.
Common questions
Can I scan Pokémon cards without installing an app?
Yes. Pokoin’s photo lookup and phone camera scanner run in the browser. Scan Connect also uses a browser on your phone and desktop.
Does scanning automatically list my cards for sale?
No. Review the scan queue and choose collection or listing intent before submitting. A quick photo lookup identifies a card; it does not publish a sale listing.
